After School Program

Program Overview:

Duration: 8-10 weeks
Class Length: 45-60 minutes
Age Group: Specify the age range you're targeting
Dance Style: hip-hop, K-pop, Chinese, Jazz or a mix of styles

Weekly Breakdown:

  1. Weeks 1-2: Introduction and Basics

    • Warm-Up: Gentle stretches and basic movements.

    • Fundamentals: Introduce basic dance steps and techniques.

    • Choreography: Start with simple combinations to build confidence.

    • Cool-Down: Stretching and reflection on what was learned.

  2. Weeks 3-4: Skill Development

    • Warm-Up: Increase intensity slightly, include dance-specific exercises.

    • Technique: Focus on refining basic skills and introducing new steps.

    • Choreography: Develop more complex sequences, building on previous weeks.

    • Cool-Down: Relaxation and feedback session.

  3. Weeks 5-6: Integration and Practice

    • Warm-Up: Dynamic stretches and full-body engagement.

    • Technique: Practice combinations and transitions.

    • Choreography: Work on integrating steps into longer routines.

    • Cool-Down: Stretching and review of the day’s lesson.

  4. Weeks 7-8: Performance Preparation

    • Warm-Up: Comprehensive warm-up focusing on performance readiness.

    • Choreography: Finalize routines and practice performance aspects.

    • Rehearsal: Run through routines as if performing, focus on transitions and expressions.

    • Cool-Down: Stretching and mental preparation for performance.

  5. Weeks 9-10: Final Rehearsal and Performance

    • Warm-Up: Full warm-up including all techniques and choreography.

    • Final Rehearsal: Run through the entire performance, addressing any issues.

    • Performance: Host a showcase or presentation for parents and peers.

    • Cool-Down: Celebrate achievements, provide feedback, and discuss the program.
